Happy Saturday friends,
So today, I have a very exciting post for you all. Earlier today, I had some of my friends over and threw a "theatre party." Wait, Faith, back it up, what the heck is a theatre party? Well, let me explain to you what it is and how to have the best one on the block.

So, there are two different types of parties you can have, one with actual theatre kids and one with non theatre kids to show them just how great musicals are. I had the second one. I got all my friends who had never even seen a popular, professional musical. But, I can see the first kind being just as fun, if not more. The musical I chose to watch with my friends was Les Miserables, because, like i said in my last post, it is by far my favorite. So that's pretty much what it really is, now I bet your dying to hear how to have your own. No? Okay, well whatever, lets just get started.
There are three main objectives you need to actually have an amazing theatre party. A great musical, lots of food and great decorations. So, like I said, we watched Les Miserables. I would recommend choosing something of your guests liking or something you think they would enjoy seeing. If your having a party with theatre kids, you can do one you all know, so you can sing along to the movie. It's all up to you with what show you want to do! Second thing you need is lots and lots of great food. What I did was had anyone who wanted to, make or bring food, almost everyone wanted to, so we ended up with a mass amount of food. Some people brought guacamole, someone brought oreos, one person even brought these cookie/brownie things that were beyond AMAZING. I made some buffalo chicken dip which my friends and I devoured. I also had popcorn, obviously, chips and some good drinks. It's really up to you what kind of food you want to have. Lastly, to have a great party you need good decor. I recommend decorating towards whatever show you are watching. For mine, I printed out a bunch of cosette's and taped them up all around the room. This isn't really decor, but I also had these little paper containers filled with candy and I put pictures of different stage actors on each one and then a little info about them on the back of the contaner. But if you are watching les mis, I think it would be cool if you put red, blue and white streamers up. Really, just decorate towards your show/theme.
Whew, that was a lot to take in. This party was honestly so fun and there were a select few people who actually were really into the movie, which I was not expecting, because of the fact that they were not theatre kids... Anyways, if you guys use this to have your own party please please please send me pictures (you can do so by going to the contact section at the top of the page) it would make me so happy.
Have a great rest of your weekend and enjoy your week,
Faith.
